Overview

Electric industry operators face a long list of challenges, and complying with various regulations, including NERC CIP, is top of that list. NERC CIP (North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection) plan is a set of requirements designed to secure the assets required for operating North America's bulk electric system.

In this webcast and associated paper, SANS Senior Instructors and NERC CIP expert Tim Conway, along with Fortinet representatives Peter Newton and Christopher Blauvelt, will address the various CIP standards, from CIP-005 to CIP-013. Then, the team will talk about requirements and capabilities of security tools to support compliance. Managing a CIP program using some of Fortinets products will be addressed, including interoperability, proving compliance, dealing with the audit and assessing requirements against standards.
