Join Tim Conway and Ted Gutierrez for a discussion of NERC CIP hot topics of interest to electric sector entities. This webcast will cover a variety of topics including CIP v6 NOPR comments, generation segmentation, programmable electronic devices, beginning with the end (audit) in mind, and audit scheduling.
Technical Director - ICS and SCADA programs at SANS. Responsible for developing, reviewing, and implementing technical components of the SANS ICS and SCADA product offerings. Formerly, the Director of CIP Compliance and Operations Technology at Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO). Responsible for Operations Technology, NERC CIP Compliance, and the NERC training environments for the operations departments within NIPSCO Electric. Previously, an EMS Computer Systems Engineer at NIPSCO for eight years, with responsibility over the control system servers and the supporting network infrastructure. Former Chair of the RFC CIPC, current Chair of the NERC CIP Interpretation Drafting Team, member of the NESCO advisory board, current Chair of the NERC CIPC GridEx Working Group, and Chair of the NBISE Smart Grid Cyber Security panel.
Ted Gutierrez, CISSP, GICSP, and GCIH, is the ICS & CIP Product Manager at the SANS Institute. Ted is responsible for expanding and improving the ICS and NERC CIP focused curriculum and providing outreach to utility customers facing NERC CIP Version 5 transition. Ted has over 25 years of experience working in the electric utility, information technology outsourcing, and manufacturing industries. Formerly serving as the Director of Operations Technology & NERC Compliance at Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO), Ted was responsible for the development and implementation of NERC CIP and NERC 693 compliance programs and participated as a member of the RFC CIPC. Ted earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
