Overview

This presentation will explore the state of IPv6 support in the Snort and Suricata IDS engines used in Security Onion, as well as utilizing the Extensible Event Format (EVE) with Suricata and Splunk to log full IPv6 address information, which is unsupported in the current barnyard implementations.

Jon Mark Allen

Jon Mark Allen has worked in the Information Security field for over 13 years, and in IT overall for 17 years. He is currently the Director of Information Security for SANS Institute. He spent the majority of his time in the Healthcare sector, but also spent time in the Retail industry prior to joining SANS.
