SEC573 Automating Information Security with Python is SANS tremendously popular six-day course that will give you the programming skills that are so highly sought after in today's work place. The course is designed to teach you not only to code, but also show you the practical application of those skills in forensics, defensive and offensive applications. pyWars is SEC573's unique self-paced hands-on approach to learning. 'pyWars makes it fun and educational to learn to code across a wide variety of skill sets and to use those skills to solve real world problems. If you are interested in learning to code, but you 're not willing to jump straight into the full six-day course, I have a new option for you.

I've started teaching a two-day introductory workshop at various events. After great success at this year's RSA conference SANS has decided to offer this two-day workshop at two additional venues this year. This course is not offered at our normal SANS conference. You can only take this special, limited-run two-day workshop at this year's Wild West Hack Fest or at BSidesAugusta. But this raises some good questions. What is the difference between the two-day workshop and the six-day class? What is the overlap? Who should take the class? How do I get the most bang for my buck and truly develop hardcore code skills? Join me for this talk where I will answer all these questions and more!
