Overview

The task of implementing security policies on the interior can be daunting: this session takes a practical approach of leveraging data intelligence to build and design security policies that work for the business. Leveraging best practices and experience, the presenter will discuss example of using network telemetry and analytics systems to design and build effective security policy to secure the network interior. This session will cover proven asset discovery and classification techniques and methods of "working above the data" to create relationships and meaningful policy.

Speaker Bio

Matthew Robertson

Matthew Robertson is a Principal Engineer in Cisco’s Security Business Group focused on security analytics and the behavior analytics. Matt is passionate about leveraging network telemetry in order to better increase security posture: from gaining visibility to designing polices through the application of analytics and machine learning to detect threats. Matt holds both bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Waterloo and is a frequent speaker around the world at leading network security conferences on a variety of topics.
