Overview

Organizations have developed their cloud estates in various ways over the last few years, sometimes by somewhat autonomous IT development teams and sometimes by dedicated cloud teams on official projects. Today, these cloud initiatives are no longer mere isolated projects, but rather they are now part of the mainstream business landscape. Network security teams are mandated to sign-off on the security of the cloud estate as part of their general security governance processes. Since cloud estates rely on technologies and tools that are very different than those used by their on-premise counterparts, unique challenges have arisen.

Join us for a discussion between Prof Avishai Wool, CTO of AlgoSec and David Shackleford, Principal Consultant of Voodoo Security and Senior Instructor at the SANS Institute where they will cover:

  •             Bridging the gaps and managing the challenges across the various stakeholders involved in securing the cloud estate
  •             Assessing risk and compliance cohesively for the entire cloud environment
  •             Holistically managing the entire cloud and on-premise enterprise network through a single pane of glass
  •             Managing cloud vendor security controls alongside third party virtual firewalls assigned to protect cloud resources

Avishai Wool

Avishai has served on the program committee of the leading IEEE an ACM conferences on computer and network security. He has published more than 40 research papers and holds 10 US Patents with many more pending. He is also an associate professor in the School of Electrical Engineering, Tel Aviv University.

When he’s not busy evangelizing AlgoSec’s solutions, Avishai enjoys tinkering with all sorts of computer and network security technologies. Alongside some of his students, Avishai demonstrated that the pairing algorithm in Bluetooth 2.0 is totally broken (leading to the standardization of Bluetooth 2.1). More recently, he demonstrated that the proposed Israeli RFID-based elections are vulnerable to all sorts of attacks.

And if you believe Google searches, he is also one of the most famous “Avishai”s on the net.

Dave Shackleford
