Ismael Valenzuela

Ismael Valenzuela is co-author of the cyber defense and blue team operations course, SANS SEC530: Defensible Security Architecture and Engineering. Ismael is a Senior Principal Engineer at McAfee, where he leads research on threat hunting using machine-learning and expert system–driven investigations. Ismael Valenzuela has participated as a security professional in numerous projects across the globe in the past 20 years, which included being the founder of one of the first IT Security consultancies in Spain.


Tim Helming

Tim Helming, DomainTools Security Evangelist, has over 20 years of experience in information security, from DNS and network to cloud to application and ICS attacks and defenses. At DomainTools, he applies this background to helping organizations understand the threat landscape, especially in the area of malicious online infrastructure. He also helps evangelize the company's growing portfolio of investigative and proactive cyber defense offerings. Prior to DomainTools, he has led Product teams at WatchGuard Technologies and Dragos. Tim has spoken at security conferences such as FIRST, InfoSec World, BSides Las Vegas, FireEye/MIRcon, and AusCERT, as well as media events and technology partner conferences worldwide.


Devin Johnstone

Devin Johnstone, Senior Staff Security Operations Engineer at Palo Alto Networks, has spent the better part of the past decade in the trenches of a SOC, and he brings his own experience in building a team from the ground up to the Palo Alto Networks SOC Tour. At Palo Alto Networks, Devin led the development of the SOC Automation Program and is now responsible for Data Loss Prevention and Customer Outreach. Devin is passionate about sharing the latest and greatest strategies for building a successful InfoSec team of any size.


Bassam Khan

Bassam Khan serves as Gigamon Vice President of Product and Technical Marketing Engineering, responsible for positioning and promoting the company’s products and solutions, as well as corporate and go-to-market strategy. Bassam brings a strong track record of more than 20 years managing products and marketing for security, cloud, and collaboration technology companies. Prior to Gigamon, he held executive positions at ControlUp, AppSense, PostPath (acquired by Cisco), Cloudmark, and Portal Software. Bassam holds degrees from Carnegie-Mellon University and Boston University.
