Speaker Bios

Dan deBeaubien

Dan deBeaubien has over 25 years of experience in Information Technology and Information Security. He has been working for the past several years directing efforts at the SANS Institute to develop new security related platforms and products including the new SANS Advanced Cybersecurity Learning Platform. Prior to his work at SANS, Dan held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Michigan Technological University where he created Universities' first Information Security Office and created the positions of Chief Information Security Officer and most recently Chief Information Compliance Officer and deployed the Universitiesí first information security training programs.

Danielle Ventre-Olson

Danielle Ventre-Olson is the Director of Client Operations for SANS Securing The Human (STH). She currently leads the STH Client Success Team and HelpDesk and is a SANS GIAC Certified Project Manager with over 10 years experience leading in the customer service industry. She architected the STH Client Success Program and works closely with Lance Spitzer on client outreach and engagement activities. Prior to working at SANS Institute she worked in Store Operations at a large retail organization.

Lisa Murray-Johnson

Lisa Murray-Johnson, PhD is the Director of Content Research and Development at SANS Securing The Human. In this role, she is responsible for integrating learning theory and behavioral strategies into content to improve the effectiveness of the human shield. Lisa holds a PhD from Michigan State University and has 20 years experience working with social and cognitive factors that influence learning and behavior transfer as a professor, researcher, and program administrator.

Lance Spitzner

Lance Spitzner has over 20 years of security experience in cyber threat research, awareness and training. He invented the concepts of honeynets, founded the Honeynet Project and published three security books. Lance has worked in 20 different countries and helped over 250 organizations plan, maintain and measure their security awareness programs. In addition Lance is a serial tweeter (@lspitzner), avid blogger and works on numerous community security projects. Before working in information security, Mr. Spitzner served as an armor officer in the Army's Rapid Deployment Force and earned his MBA from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
