Overview

The unpredictable nature of the cybersecurity analyst's job makes the day-to-day challenging to say the least. Too many alerts, too many tools to keep up with, and too much pressure to get it all right. There are powerful lessons that can make the daily job of the operator more beneficial to the organization and can lead to personal change. This session presents a holistic, integrated approach for solving the pressing problems, adapting a growing attack surface and taking advantage of opportunities created by change.

Speaker Bios

Jorge Orchilles

Jorge Orchilles is the Chief Technology Officer of SCYTHE and co-creator of the C2 Matrix project. He is a SANS Certified Instructor and the author of Security 564: Red Team Exercises and Adversary Emulation. He was a founding member of MITRE Engenuity Center of Threat-Informed Defense. He is a Fellow at the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) and National Security Institute. Prior, Jorge led the offensive security team at Citi for over 10 years.

He also co-authored Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) and A Framework for the Regulatory Use of Penetration Testing in the Financial Services Industry, and author of Microsoft Windows 7 Administratorís Reference. Jorge holds post-graduate degrees from Stanford and Florida International University in Advanced Computer Security & Master of Science. Jorge speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese, in decreasing levels of fluency. When heís not hacking, teaching, or writing, youíll find him watching and playing soccer.


David Sylvester

David Sylvester is a bio-engineer turned cybersecurity expert who has spent the last several years helping organizations find the right solutions for their challenges. David currently is responsible for defining and executing the global sales strategy for Lumu. Before Lumu, David led Easy Solutionís global expansion efforts from start-up through exit, reaching more than 465 customers and 125 million protected users worldwide. In his free time, David is an active rower, father of three, and creator of Tour de Dog, the first human-canine cyclist team to accomplish riding 4500 miles through the United States.


Evgeniy Kharam

Evgeniy Kharam is a VP, Cybersecurity Solution Architecture at Herjavec Group at Herjavec Group. In his current role at Herjavec, Evgeniy designs optimum security solutions for large enterprise clients by taking into account both their current infrastructure and future needs. Evgeniy recently started the Security Architecture podcast to give back to communities and help companies improve cybersecurity architecture
