Since the Coronavirus outbreak, cybercriminals have continuously leveraged this global crisis by focusing on cyberattacks designed to compromise victims data and security. Bitdefender threat intelligence data on Coronavirus-related cyber threats between March and April reveals that Covid-19-themed threat reports are becoming the new norm.

In this webcast, we will deep-dive into Bitdefenders threat intelligence research related to Covid-19 to better understand the evolution and impact of these attacks. Liviu Arsene will discuss, based on the internal telemetry, the global expected trajectory of the attacks for the next 3-6 months.

Liviu Arsene is a Global Cybersecurity Researcher for Bitdefender, with a strong background in security and technology. Researching global trends and developments in cybersecurity, he focuses on advanced persistent threats and security incidents while assessing their impact in critical public and private business infrastructures. His passions revolve around innovative technologies and gadgets, focusing on their security applications and long-term strategic impact.

John Pescatore

John Pescatore joined SANS as director of emerging security trends in January 2013 after more than 13 years as lead security analyst for Gartner, running consulting groups at Trusted Information Systems and Entrust, 11 years with GTE, and service with both the National Security Agency, where he designed secure voice systems, and the U.S. Secret Service, where he developed secure communications and surveillance systems and "the occasional ballistic armor installation." John has testified before Congress about cybersecurity, was named one of the 15 most-influential people in security in 2008 and is an NSA-certified cryptologic engineer.
