SANS cares about bringing exemplary cybersecurity training to classrooms around the world as often as possible, but we also care about your safety. In response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization, SANS has implemented a new global Training Guarantee to ensure that you can complete your SANS training in a safe environment.

This SANS Training Guarantee allows the following options for those who would like to or have already purchased SANS training - students can:

Questions and answers about this Training Guarantee can be found below, but you can also contact us to discuss your training options.

SANS Training Guarantee Q&A

Q: Should I delay my purchase of a SANS live training course?

A: The SANS Training Guarantee keeps you completely covered if you are unable to attend training for any reason. Whether your event has been converted to a Live Online event, or you choose to train OnDemand, reschedule your in-person training to an event later in the year, or receive a credit memo, our Training Guarantee ensures that there is no financial risk to your purchase.

Q: Will the SANS training event I registered for take place?

A: For the safety of our students, staff, instructors, and facilitators, SANS has made the decision to modify all in-person training events scheduled through September 1, moving as many trainings as possible to virtual formats. Students registered for these events will be notified as soon as possible of their options, which typically include:

  1. Complete their scheduled course Live Online, if available
  2. Take their course at another SANS live training event or Live Online eventin 2020 (associated GIAC Certification exam purchases will then also be rescheduled to align with your training)
  3. Transfer an in-person event course purchase to an online format: OnDemand, Simulcast, or Live Online (limited by availability, Simulcast options are unavailable until after September 1)
  4. Receive a credit memo to apply towards training taking place within the next 12 months

Q: My training event was converted to a Live Online event, what does this mean?

A: If you are registered for in-person training that was scheduled to take place before September 1, your training event will be modified and we will reach out as soon as possible to provide you with more detail about this change. Our Training Guarantee is in effect so you will have options to either attend your Live Online training, transition to another training opportunity, or receive a credit memo to apply towards training taking place within the next 12 months - guaranteeing that your training will be protected from financial risk.

Your Live Online course will be conducted virtually during the originally scheduled days and times (in the originally scheduled time zone), and you will simply login to attend your live streaming sessions from anywhere in the world. All of your courseware will be shipped to the address we have on file for you, and you will receive an email explaining how to access your course online approximately one week prior to your training start date. Your Live Online course will also include four months of online access to your course recordings and SME support.
