If you’re looking to be one of the first to earn SANS Security Awareness Professional (SSAP) credential, we’ve got a little secret to share: The SSAP Pre-sale is now LIVE. (Shhhh!)

The SSAP credential will be acquired after passing a proctored exam following the completion of MGT433: How to Build, Maintain, and Measure a Mature Awareness Program course. All GIAC Certification exams are web-based and required to be taken in a proctored environment. There are two proctoring options: remote proctoring through ProctorU, and onsite proctoring through PearsonVUE.  Click here for more information.

Here’s what you can expect with the SSAP credentialing exam:

  • Once the student has completed the MGT433 course, they are eligible to schedule an online exam.
  • One in-home practice exam will be available.
  • The exam costs $599.
  • The two-hour exam is comprised of 50 questions.
  • If you’re a recent alumnus of the MGT433 course from January 1, 2017 – present, you will be provided with a specialized discount code, allowing you register for and begin preparing for the credentialing exam.

While this exam is expected to be comprehensive and challenging, through active participation in the MGT433 course and careful studying of the courseware and practice exam, many students are expected to complete the exam with a passing score. The credential badge expires after four years.

For awareness professionals looking to preregister for the MGT433: How to Build, Maintain, and Measure a Mature Awareness Program course, you now have the option to bundle the SSAP credential practitioner exam (a $599 value) to your MGT433 course registration. This offer also includes one practice exam. If you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity, click here to review the current schedule and register for a MGT433 course that works best for you.

Upon completion of the MGT433 course and passing SSAP exam, individuals will receive a specialized digital badge, which includes information on when your SSAP was obtained and the particular skills acquired. This badge can be prominently displayed on professional networking pages, portfolios, signatures, and on résumés to signify this professional career enrichment.
