One of the things I love about teaching MGT 433, SANS two day course on building high-impact awareness programs, is the interaction with the students and how we all learn something new, including me.  Just recently two students at SANSFire brought up a great idea for awareness programs, Meeting In A Box.  While I'm sure the idea is not new, this is the first time I've heard of it.  The concept works like this. You are a large or dispersed organization and you want to enable other offices, departments or even business units to have their own awareness events.  Meeting In a Box is a pre-packaged solution that these units can simply download from your internal awareness site and run with it.  The idea is you do all the prep work, others just execute.  You can have a Meeting In a Box package for different security awareness topics, or perhaps build packages based on time options such as a 15 minute, 30 minute or one hour event.  Things you could include in such a pre-packaged download solution are;
  • Presentation slide deck with each slide having detailed notes for the speaker.
  • Top ten frequently asked questions when teaching such a topic.
  • Suggestions on how to promote the event.
  • Presenting tips.
  • Poster(s)
  • Newsletter(s)
  • Screensaver
  • Stickers
