Melbourne, AU, 26 July 2012 - SANS, along with its Australian training partner, Shearwater Solutions, today announced the addition of a second Australian information security training event, SANS Melbourne 2012. Slated for 3-8 September, SANS Melbourne 2012 will provide attendees world-class training in Intrusion Detection and Web Application Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking.

"In the relentless struggle to protect against cyber attacks, companies must anticipate and identify vulnerabilities before hackers have an opportunity to exploit them," said Suresh Mustapha, SANS Managing Director for the APAC Region. "SANS technical training courses provide students with the detailed, hands-on training that will allow them to uncover security flaws before the bad guys do."

Judy Novak, author of Intrusion Detection In-Depth, adds "There are many lessons to be shared with you from experience. This knowledge affords you the opportunity to learn and practice in the classroom to prepare you for the fast-paced always-interesting job of intrusion detection analysts."

Kevin Johnson, author of Web App Pen Testing and Ethical Hacking, adds "This course provides a deep understanding of how Web Applications work and what attack vectors are available. Students will perform real-world exercises and in-depth exploration of Web penetration testing."

SANS Melbourne 2012 will feature hands-on training with SANS Certified Instructors Pieter Danhieux and George Bakos. For more information on the training event including course overviews and faculty bios or to register, please visit: http://www.sans.org/info/110165
