Bethesda, Md. – GIAC, the leading provider and developer of Cyber Security Certifications, has launched a new certification for GIAC Response and Industrial Defense (GRID).
The new GIAC Response and Industrial Defense cyber security certification is for professionals who want to demonstrate that they can perform Active Defense strategies specific to and appropriate for an Industrial Control System (ICS) network and systems. Successful GRID candidates will show an understanding of the strategies and fundamental techniques specific to core subjects with an ICS-focus such as network security monitoring (NSM), digital forensics and incident response (DFIR).
"The GIAC Response and Industrial Defense is an exciting certification associated with the ICS515: ICS/SCADA Active Defense and Incident Response course. It is designed to assess and validate skills required by security professionals to safely and efficiently operate in industrial environments to hunt threats, respond to intrusions, and share the knowledge they develop in doing so. The combination of network security monitoring, malware analysis, threat intelligence, and incident response tailored to industrial networks ensures that as the threats to our global infrastructure increase we will have the professionals required to respond to them," stated Robert M. Lee, author of SANS training course ICS515: ICS Active Defense and Incident Response.
This long-awaited certification, associated with the ICS515 ICS Active Defense and Incident Response course, is available now to the public. For help with registering for the GRID certification exam, please email: info@giac.org
