SANS Institute to Return to San Antonio for Cyber Security Training Event

Johannes Ullrich, Director of the SANS Internet Storm Center, to Discuss the Internet of Evil Things during his Keynote Address

  • Bethesda, MD
  • July 8, 2015

SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced SANS San Antonio 2015 taking place August 17 - 22. This hands-on, immersion style training event offers courses for both newbies and highly seasoned cyber security professionals. SANS San Antonio will cover today's most complex cyber security issues including ICS cyber attacks, passwords and the Internet of evil things.

According to keynote speaker Johannes Ullrich, Ph.D, "Embedded systems are the new target. As our networks grow uncontrolled and unsupervised, forgotten machines will take over and soon rule us all. Understanding how to analyze these malware samples and properly embed system analysis is essential to regaining control over the Internet of Evil things. My talk will provide the necessary tips and techniques to get you started."

For those beginning their career in cyber security, SANS San Antonio will offer its popular SEC401: Security Essentials Bootcamp-style course. Get prepared to pass the CISSP(R) exam by taking the MGT414: SANS Training Program for CISSP(R) Certification course. Seasoned security professionals can look forward to the new ICS515: ICS Active Defense and Incident Response course and many others including SEC560: Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking, and SEC503: Intrusion Detection In-Depth. Some of the courses offered are aligned with DoD Directive 8570 and most are associated with a GIAC Certification.
