SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced world-renowned cyber security expert, Dr. Eric Cole, will keynote SANS' largest training event of the year, SANS Network Security 2015. Taking place September 12 - 21 in Las Vegas, the event will feature more than 40 hands-on, immersion-style security training courses and cover some of today's toughest cyber security challenges including why breaches keep happening.

"Despite increased awareness of threats and organizations spending significant amounts of money on cyber security, data breaches have become the norm. No longer are people surprised when a breach occurs," said Dr. Cole. "Join me as I get to the heart of the problem and address why the current approach to security is not working. Once the problem is dissected, systematic, provable methods for properly addressing security will be provided. This talk will offer an actionable roadmap to help prepare the next generation of Cyber Defenders to tackle the problems that need to be addressed."

The Network Security event will feature SANS' most popular training courses, many of which are associated with GIAC Certification. Among those offered are several new and newly updated courses including SEC542: Web App Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking, SEC550: Active Defense, Offensive Countermeasures and Cyber Deception, SEC562: CyberCity Hands-on Kinetic Cyber Range Exercise, MGT535: Incident Response Team Management and HOSTED: Health Care Security Essentials.
