Vern Williams is an experienced leader and consultant with 17 years of naval nuclear propulsion plant experience and over 16 years in the IT and security arena. He provides Security Leadership, Architecture and Project Management services to State and Federal Agencies, Business Continuity services to the Alaska Pipeline Company and Security Engineering and Architecture services to several commercial and federal accounts. He is qualified as a Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional and one of few instructors for the CSSLP preparation seminar by ISC2. A proficient organizer and manager, he has been instrumental in establishing a new CISSP course at Austin Community College and developing the curriculum, which has been taught over 8 years and in starting and actively contributing to the Texas Regional Infrastructure Security Conference (TRISC), now in its 7th year. Vern is an active leader in the security space including Director of operations for ISSA International, Chair of the Austin ASIS chapter and President of the Capitol of Texas ISSA chapter. Vern is CSO at The Patria Group, is a CISSP, CSSLP, ISSEP, ISAM, CBCP MSIS from Hawaii Pacific University an ISSA Fellow and Senior Member IEEE.
