Larry Vandenaweele

Larry Vandenaweele is a Manager at PwC Australia's Cyber and Forensics Practice where he provides tailored services for organisations dealing with control system environments and ensuring compliance with national and international regulations by utilizing industry good practices.

Previously, Larry did charity work in the Philippines as part of his Bachelor's study where he led a network and system migration project for a local government in combination with support of existing initiatives providing aid to local communities. 

Larry obtained a Master of Science in Information Security with Merit from Royal Holloway, University of London in combination with his full-time job at PwC Belgium by means of distance learning. 

In his spare time, Larry enjoys being involved in the security community. He is the co-organizer of CyberSKool conference that teaches kids (between the ages of 7 and 15) IT security awareness, out of the box thinking and problem solving by doing STEM activities. Larry is also co-founder of The ICS Village which is a non-profit organisation designed to increase awareness and educate the public on protecting critical infrastructure environments by providing an interactive experience that showcases latest technologies and security controls. He also co-organizes the annual BruCON security conference in Belgium by and for the security community. Finally, Larry is a Safety and Security volunteer at Security BSides Las Vegas keeping a watchful eye throughout the duration of the conference. 

Outside of teaching, working at PwC and doing something back for the security community, Larry enjoys exploring new cultures by traveling, snowboarding, and photography.
