Richard Porter is a systems engineer for Palo Alto Networks, Inc. He has a driving passion for "blue defense", and has more than 20 years of information security experience. Richard is an active researcher in the area of information security and social psychology. His doctoral work is dedicated to bridging social psychological science with information security and will primarily focus on insider threat prediction, intellectual property protection, and security leadership. Richard also serves actively as a SANS Internet Storm Center handler. He has developed security programs that center on big data security analytics, threat defense, breach readiness, and data protection. Richard holds a B.S in Information Technology and an M.S. in Information Systems as well as a CISSP certification. He is currently pursuing a PhD from Walden University.
