Getting to the Root of Highly Targeted Rootkits

  • Jeremy Flessing, HBGary, Inc.
  • Tuesday, July 31st, 7:15pm - 8:15pm

Today's stealth attackers are increasingly using sophisticated rootkits to access critical data. In this presentation, HBGary Associate Consultant Jeremy Flessing will provide real-world examples of small scale, highly targeted rootkit infections. As part of the presentation, Jeremy will examine the capabilities of these rootkits, how they can be found (including a review of current rootkit detection technologies) and removed as well as critical threat intelligence that can be gathered from this stealthy malware that can help mitigate risk to your organization. He will also discuss how rootkits have evolved over the past five years.
