Fear and Loathing in Information Security
- John Strand
- Monday, June 4th, 7:15pm - 9:15pm
Nothing seems to be working. Companies are getting compromised at an alarming rate. What do we need to do to finally start securing our networks? Lets face it, the traditional tools and techniques are failing. Einstein's definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, are we all insane?
In this presentation we will discuss which security technologies are not working and we will talk about new tactics and techniques to help defend our networks. The tactics John discusses will go beyond patch, scan, IDS, Firewall and high hopes.
The following bonus sessions are open to all paid attendees at no additional cost. There are many different types of events that fall into these categories:
- SANS@Night: Evening presentations given after day courses have ended. This category includes Keynotes.
- Special Events: SANS-hosted events and other non-technical recreational offerings. This category includes, but is not limited to, Receptions and Information Tables.
