Learning from Mistakes: Using Detection Labs to Understand Impact

  • Greg Bailey
  • Monday, July 8th, 7:15pm - 8:15pm

As pen testers and red team operators, we often focus on the offensive, ultimately to reach a goal. How we get there is up to us. For some of us, stealth may be a prime focus, concentrating on evasion capabilities and threat emulation. For the rest of us, that might not be the case. Either way, it would behoove us not to understand the impact of our own attack methods. Therefore, we can use a lab environment, not only to test our methods, but to understand the impact and artifacts left behind.
