Chris Baker

Chris is a Director of Information Security at a large healthcare company where he developed and currently leads the global application security, penetration testing, red team, and vulnerability management functions. He has also led several global incident response and vulnerability remediation efforts and has been working for over 20 years in the healthcare industry to promote information protection and information security. This experience provides him with a rich supply of real-world stories and demonstrations that illustrate the concepts he teaches. He knows that striking a balance between security and usability depends on having a clear understanding of the risks that vulnerabilities and threats pose and being able to communicate those in terms that resonate with business leaders.

Chris attended the University of Minnesota and earned an MBA from Drexel University. He holds several professional and security certifications including GPEN, GMOB, CISM, and a Six Sigma Black Belt. He is an active member of the infosec community and looks for every opportunity to learn and encourage others to gain a deeper understanding of the fascinating world of information security. He regularly takes part in security training, conferences, and capture-the-flag challenges to grow and apply his skills.
