Finance Fundamentals: Building the Business Case for Security
- Robert Kirtley
- Monday, May 21st, 7:15pm - 8:15pm
We frequently know what we need to do to enhance the security posture of our organization and the resources we require to do it. But how do we make the case to senior management? In this session, we'll discuss finance basics and terms so we can start to speak the same language as those who determine whether or not we get the funding we need to execute on our mission. After laying the foundation, we'll move on to a discussion about what the key components of a business case are and how to build one that works in your organization. Finally, we will walk through the preparation of a sample business case and discuss how to present it in a way that gets you the resources you need to be successful.
