In response to the escalation of the COVID-19 pandemic, we've made the decision to convert this training event into a Live Online event.

The courses below will take place online, using virtual software to stream live instructors to all registered students during the scheduled classroom hours. (Mountain Time) This alternate training format will allow us to deliver the cybersecurity training you expect while keeping you, our staff, and our instructors as safe as possible.

Your registration for a Live Online course includes electronically delivered courseware, live streaming instruction by a SANS instructor, course labs, and four months of online access to course recordings.

Terrance Maguire

Terrance Maguire is the chief scientist and managing member of Digital Forensics Academy LLC, conducting digital forensic investigations, research and development in computer forensics and providing training to the government and commercial sectors. He has over twenty seven years of experience in physical and digital forensic investigations, has developed and led training programs in varied areas of law enforcement and digital evidence, and has experience implementing counterintelligence intrusion detection programs. His prior experience includes serving as a senior-level forensic computer analyst for the U.S. State Department, where he was responsible for conducting analysis on digital evidence. As a cyber operations specialist for the Department of Defense, he implemented network surveillance, network packet analysis, wireless surveys, and intrusion detection. Terrance developed and presented a broad range of instruction to federal law enforcement in the area of cybercrime. Earlier in his investigative career, as a forensic detective with the Chesterfield County Police Department in Virginia, Terrance collected, evaluated, and processed evidence from crime scenes, prepared comprehensive case reports, and trained department personnel in forensic techniques. Subsequently, as a forensic scientist for the Virginia Division of Forensic Science, he conducted bloodstain pattern analysis in criminal cases and testified in court as an expert witness and he was the principal instructor at the Virginia Forensic Science Academy.

He is currently a certified SANS instructor teaching the Advanced Smartphone Forensics Course. He was a professorial lecturer at the George Washington University where he taught graduate-level courses in digital forensics investigations. He was a consultant for the Department of State Cyber Terrorism Training Program where he instructed allied countries Law Enforcement Agencies in cyber investigation techniques.
