Last Day to Save $200 on Hands-on Cyber Security Training at SANS Santa Monica 2019!

Cyber Threat Intelligence Summit

Arlington, VA | Mon, Jan 20 - Mon, Jan 27, 2020
Event starts in 124 Days

Call for Presentations - deadline extended to Monday, September 9 at 9 am CDT.

The Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) Summit offers speakers the chance to impact the community by sharing their research and experience. If you are interested in presenting or co-presenting, we’d be delighted to consider your CTI-focused proposal with use cases and transferable lessons.

We are looking for presentations from intelligence producers, consumers, and researchers with a focus on topics that will be directly relatable and applicable to the summit audience.

CFP submissions should detail how the proposed CTI case study, tool, or technique can be utilized by attendees. All CTI Summit presentations will be 30 minutes with 5 minutes for questions.

Before submitting, you may find it helpful to watch videos of talks from the 2019 Summit and read this concise 12-step guide on writing conference proposals from SANS instructor and CTI Summit board member Katie Nickels.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Methods for producing Cyber Threat Intelligence
  • Using intelligence to drive decision making
  • Case studies on the application of cyber threat intelligence to a security or business problem
  • Applying classic intelligence approaches to CTI analysis and production
  • New tools developed to support or enable CTI
  • Examples of how to successfully operationalize CTI
  • Deep dives into specific threat actors
  • Applications or extensions of research presented at previous years’ Summit(s)
  • Recent examples of analysis that challenged CTI assumptions and provided new insight into threats
  • Innovative ways CTI has been utilized to address a specific threat or problem set

Who Should Submit

Diversity of thought is critical for successful intelligence analysis, and the SANS CTI Summit welcomes and encourages participation by everyone regardless of age, gender, culture, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identification. Whatever your background, whoever you are, we encourage you to respond to the CFP. We provide mentoring to all speakers and welcome people who are newer to the field or who have not yet done any public speaking.

All speakers receive complimentary registration for the Summit for themselves and a guest. A continental breakfast and bufeft lunch are included.

SANS does not cover travel expenses for speakers. However, we offer a limited number of need-based stipends for travel.

Presentations will be recorded.

Submissions are only accepted via our online survey through Monday, September 9 at 9 a.m. CDT.
