Moving Past Prevention and Focusing on Detection
- Bryce Galbraith
- Thursday, November 6th, 7:15pm - 8:45pm
A key phrase from Dr. Cole is "Prevention is ideal but detection is a Must". While ideally an organization wants to prevent all attacks, based on the current level of the adversary, all attacks cannot be prevented - some attacks will have to be detected. Therefore organizations need to put more and more focus on detection. Some adversaries will successfully bypass preventive measures and it is critical that attacks can be detected in a timely manner and the amount of damage properly controlled.
