Cloud Security Testing

  • Edward Zamora- Master's Degree Candidate
  • Friday, December 15th, 8:15pm - 8:55pm

Cloud technology use has increased exponentially in the last few years. Many companies have adopted the use of the cloud for reduction of costs and increased efficiencies and collaborative opportunities. These same companies have questioned whether they can trust that their information is protected. Organizations have legitimate concerns regarding the security of their intellectual property and other private data. Statistics show that data loss is among the top concerns for businesses in all industries. Information security professionals in these companies need to be able to assess the risks to an organization's cloud, particularly if they are hosting it. In this talk, an overview of typical cloud components that make up a cloud will be given and examples will be provided showing how security testing methodologies can be applied.

Speaker Bio: Ed Zamora is an information security professional with over 15 years of experience in information technology and security. He gained information security experience in several industries including education, healthcare, government, banking, and manufacturing. He holds several certifications in a variety of technical platforms including Windows, Linux, and others along with several GIAC certifications. Ed is a student of the SANS Technology Institute in the Master of Science in Cyber Security Engineering program.
