Gamification: Hacking Your Brain for Better Learning
- Yori Kvitchko
- Tuesday, December 11th, 8:30pm - 9:30pm
We all love games. Board games, video games, puzzles, challenges, sports and games of chance. You've probably enjoyed at least one, or more likely many, of these just within the last month. There's something fantastically compelling about the activity of play, of exploring and discovering a new system and being rewarded for it as we improve. Learning on the other hand, while sometimes enjoyable, and always rewarding, can often be a rigorous and difficult process that takes more patience than we might have at the moment.
What can be done then to apply what we know about the fun of games and use that to make educating ourselves a smoother, more enjoyable, and more efficient experience. This talk will explore the evolution of games, the concepts of gamification, and how to put it all together. Learn to hack your brain and use games as a delivery vehicle for more enjoyable learning experiences. Find out how games can help you become an expert in that one tool or technique you've always wanted to learn, get that one cert you've never been able to get, and advance your career.
