SANS - ICMCP: Diversity Cyber Academy (DCA)

A United States Cyber Academy Program

ICMCP

SANS and International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP) are excited to announce applications for the Diversity Cyber Academy (DCA) will open on August 17, 2020. The DCA is a 100% scholarship-based diversity, equity, and inclusion program. This four-to-six-month accelerated, immersive cybersecurity training program provides eligible candidates with advanced technical training, industry-recognized GIAC certifications and hands-on cyber defense and incident handling skills sought by employers.

SANS and ICMCP first combined efforts to increase career opportunities in the cybersecurity field for black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities and women in 2018. Since this time, the program has graduated 51students through 9 cohorts. Year after year the industry falls behind in the number of qualified professionals skilled and ready for the task of protecting vital data and infrastructure. Cyber attacks have not slowed down during the pandemic and the demand for cyber professionals is high.

If you have a passion for cybersecurity and meet the requirements below, please consider applying to the DCA.

All students will begin their academy program by attending SEC401 onsite for 6 full days at their preferred location i.e. the academy the student applied to.

DCA students attend SEC401 onsite for 6 days and continue to study SEC401 at home while preparing for the GIAC certification exam. Students who successfully pass the certification exam move on to SEC504 via SANS OnDemand and will have 8 weeks to complete the OnDemand course and certification exam.
