About the SANS WhatWorks Summit Series

The Summit Series is a driving force in improving both the current and future state of computer security.

The SANS WhatWorks Summit Series focuses on the most current topics in computer security. This series brings together users of security technology and thought leaders of the industry and provides a venue for exploration and discussion of the needs, problems and solutions to the changing issues in the current technology environment.

Through a presentation and Q&A discussion process, business leaders have the opportunity to not only present their solutions and obstacles to their present issues, but have a venue for change, discussing the future environment and developing procedures and standards for industry implementation.

The SANS WhatWorks Summit Series sessions are led by a combination of security technology users and SANS seasoned presenters. The SANS faculty offers expert commentary and advice, while leaders from the industry bring day-to-day real life situations into the forefront of discussion, providing the good, the bad and the ugly in a storytelling format that promotes discussion and feedback from attendees. This format enables everyone who attends a Summit to be part of the both the discussions and the solutions.

The SANS WhatWorks Summit Series also provides an opportunity for computer security professionals to connect with the vendors and suppliers who provide current solutions via sponsored Receptions, Breakfast Talks, Lunch & Learns and Hospitality Suites. In addition to networking and discussion regarding their current solutions, these sessions drive change in the industry through discussions and debate regarding future needs and directions.
