With 2013 security horror stories in the rearview mirror, what does 2014 have in store for business and security professionals? The increasing use of cloud services, choose your own IT, BYOD, and more IoT or internet of everything (IoE) require changes on the business IT side. With rapidly evolving threats and increasingly sophisticated attacks, even the largest businesses are more vulnerable. In addition, new regulations and compliance issues further complicate the security challenges for businesses within the next few years.

In this webcast, SANS Director Emerging Security Trends, John Pescatore, and Sourcefire security experts will present their projections and recommendations for coping with today's ongoing and increasingly sophisticated security threats.

One approach involves a new model of security with three layers to address the threat continuum and provide protection before, during and after attacks. Thinking beyond the endpoints of the traditional network, the most secure business strategies will address mobile, cloud and virtual aspects of security as well. New tools, including the use of big data infrastructures to continually analyze files, can assist and overcome initial security shortcomings and retrospectively alert and identify issues that may exist across the business network.
