Practical ICS Cyber Security for the Process Industry
Opening a standard like the ISA62443 and trying to apply it to an industrial control process can be difficult. Standards can seem inflexible and complicated while providing little room to work around an existing process. In this webinar, we will explain some of the challenges we have experienced while trying to apply standards like ISA62443 to industrial applications in the process industry. We will discuss the challenges of working around a process that has been running for many years, operators that have spent their career running the facility their way, and at the same time trying to bring a layer of protection into an ever more challenging cybersecurity environment. We will get into some details like trying to define zones and conduits when everything seems to be cross connected as well as the some of the problems associated with applying some of the security controls.
