Do we need to use the Voucher Credit for one particular event, venue, class or person?

No, your Voucher Credit can be used for anybody in your organization for any training offered by SANS. Visit www.sans.org for available training options. After you make your purchase, you can decide who gets to go to what event and at what location.

 

What happens if we have credit left in our Voucher account after the initial 12 months expire?

By placing a new order of $25,000 or more, you can roll over (renew) any additional credits you have remaining in your Voucher Credit account for another 12 months.

 

Can I use my Voucher Credit for SANS vLive!, OnDemand, Self Study, or non US events?

Can I use my voucher credit towards SANS OnSite?

Yes. SANS OnSite program typically provides a discount for a large number of students. No discount will be offered when combined with your voucher credit account.

 

Can I combine savings from my credit account with any other SANS discount offer?

No. Your SANS Voucher Credit account already includes a pre-negotiated discount in that we add dollars to your account based on your purchase level. All purchases from your SANS Voucher Credit account will be based off of SANS' published list prices.

 

Is the Voucher Credit in a paper or electronic form?

Electronic, unless you specify otherwise. SANS recognizes that some procurement regulations require a paper voucher in return for prepayment. We can accommodate. Please contact Daryl Gilbertson (vouchers@sans.org or 678-714-5712) to discuss this need.

Instruction is delivered live via the web using various Internet based technologies. Streaming audio, instant messaging, online forums and e-mail are all leveraged to make the student's online experience fun and engaging.

Mentor^TM
The Mentor program offers the flexibility of online, self-paced learning along with hands-on mentor-led interaction through sessions where students can try the exercises, discuss the material, ask and answer questions, and help each other learn and prepare for certification. Mentors are people who have earned honors on both the practical and multiple choice components of certification. If one of your employees has met this bar criterion, he or she can begin leading a mentored program. By using inhouse mentors, you enable the teachers and students to discuss sensitive issues that they might not feel comfortable discussing with outsiders. Using an in-house mentor allows teachers and students to discuss sensitive issues privately.

OnDemand^TM
OnDemand is an advanced, high quality, Flash-based, online training delivery program. The program is designed to provide a convenient, simple and highly effective means for information security professionals to obtain the most trusted information security training in the world. Students will receive the same intensive, immersion training that SANS is known for delivered via a Flashbased web presentation. OnDemand students will experience real-world stories from SANS instructors to bring the true SANS experience right to your home or office.

StaySharp^TM
StaySharp focuses on education that teaches an audit, operations, legal, management and information security skill usually in a single evening. You receive specialized training sessions on a specific area of expertise, all within your own hometown community. StaySharp courses are up to 3 hours in length depending on the topic, and is presented by a SANS SSP Instructor over weekends or in the evenings. SSP is only available in locations where we have faculty. Class sizes are smaller and this can be a great way to meet your peers.

SelfStudy^TM
For the motivated student who enjoys working independently we offer the SelfStudy. program. Students receive SANS course books (and CDs when applicable) and online access to MP3 files of SANS world-class instructors teaching the material. Students study texts and listen to the lectures at their convenience and pace! In addition, students who register for GIAC Certification will receive TWO free GIAC Practice Tests for each GIAC Exam the student would need to pass to achieve GIAC Certification! The GIAC Practice Tests allow students to have an understanding of what to expect on the GIAC examination. Since many students have been out of school for a long time, practicing test taking skills can improve their chances for passing the GIAC exams.
