SANS training is like a catalyst. It not only boosts your knowledge but also inspires you to learn more.
-Tan Koon Yaw, IDA

SANS is delighted to be coming to Sweden for the first time in May 2007 where Jess Garcia will teach his signature System Forensics, Investigation & Response class. This event will be held at the Swedish Police Academy in their state-of-the-art Computer Training Lab. The number of seats are limited to 24 students. Our objective is to turn this first trip to Sweden into an annual event if we discover that the Community finds this training useful.

Did you know that SANS faculty members are the winners of an eleven-year competition designed to identify the best teachers in the security field? More than 900 people have tried out for positions on the SANS faculty; fewer than 30 have been selected. Jess and the rest of the faculty really are the "Top Guns" of Information Security!

SANS instructors blow me away. They just seem to know everything. - Ray Ellington, ABFM

SANS' intensive immersion training is designed to ensure that you are prepared to perform your job protecting critical information systems more effectively. And because SANS courses are all designed to be entirely vendor-neutral you can return to your job confident that the training will be instantly applicable. That is the SANS promise! Consider what some previous students of this course said:

This is by far the best IT course I've taken in 26 years of federal government time plus my last 5 years in local govt. Thanks! - Ed Gallagher, Orange County Sheriff's Office, FL

A very scary and eye-opening illumination of what good guys and bad guys can and can't get away with; as well as what we, as the network and data protectors, need to be thinking of whenever we consider our and 'their' data. - Tom Larrison, DoD

You will never look at your computer the same way again. - Lorna Hutcheson, CACI

This course will also prepare you for the GIAC (Global Information Assurance Certification) examination. A certification is proof an individual meets a minimum standard. However, GIAC's mission goes beyond this. The GIAC certification provides assurance to employers that their Security Professionals and prospective hires can actually do the job. It is a test of competency. GIAC does this by going beyond theory and terminology and testing the pragmatics of audit, security, operations and management tasks. A study released by the Gartner Group predicted that security certification will be required of 40 percent of personnel having day-to-day technical operations responsibility" and that "the GIAC certification will likely become the preferred credential.

This is a unique opportunity for us to partner with the Police Academy and deliver a very appropriate course for this setting. I hope that we will have the opportunity to meet you or one of your colleagues at SANS Sweden 2007. Please contact me if I can answer any questions that you might have about SANS or the event.

Very Best Wishes,
John
