Dan McCarthy is responsible for Business Development at Net Optics. In this role he works with OEM's, End-Users and Resellers to develop passive monitoring solutions for customer networks. He is well versed in the entire Net Optics product line and is a frequent speaker for Net Optics.

This talk will be an opportunity for attendees to see a live demonstration
of automated penetration-testing. In just minutes attendees will see CORE
IMPACT safely exploit vulnerabilities in a target network, replicating the
kinds of access an intruder could achieve, and proving actual paths of
attacks that must be eliminated.
Tim is a Sr. Systems Engineer for Core Security Technologies, providing
pre-sales and post-sales support and training for the Core Security
Technologies Impact user base. Mr. Byrne has over 10 years of experience
working with network and software management tools in addition to over 5
years on Software Security Management. He was also a Systems Engineer with
Primus, Groove Networks, and Hewlett Packard specializing in Network
Traversal and Software Security management.

Threat Landscape and Threat Defense Solutions
Presenter: Patrick Gray, Senior Security Strategist
Kicking off the discussion will be Patrick Gray, Senior Security Strategist for Cisco. Gray joined Cisco after serving as the Director of X-Force Operations, Internet Security Systems, Inc. (ISS). Gray also spent 20 years at the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he served as a Supervisory Special Agent in the Intelligence Division, with responsibility for global counterintelligence investigations. He has investigated cases involving financial institutions, government agencies, commercial businesses and colleges, and universities. He was also assigned to the investigation of the September 11 attacks. He continues to work closely with the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, and the White House. Gray will be providing first-hand knowledge on security threats during this session as he will address how spammers, phishers, worm writers and hackers interact with this new crime element and how you can prepare your infrastructures to stave off these relentless attacks and protect critical business assets. Additionally, Gray will touch on chatter in the underground and threats to our critical infrastructures including voice and wireless networks.
Cisco NAC Deployment and Solution
Presenter: Russell Rice, Director, Product Management
Rice will be discussing Network Admission Control (NAC), first outlining the market drivers for NAC along with current and potential levels of adoption. The bulk of the discussion will focus on the NAC solution: spanning key components, their purpose and role, and outlining deployment considerations. The tail end ponders how NAC will evolve over the coming years as adoption, demands, and solutions continue to mature.
As a Director of Product Management at Cisco, Rice is responsible for the strategy, planning, partnering, and marketing of NAC and the Cisco Security Agent (CSA). With over 12 years in the network security industry, his teams architected Cisco SAFE network security best practice design guidelines.
Cenzic Lunch and Learn Presenation
Title: Application Vulnerability Assessments Using a Non-Signature Based Approach
Speaker: Prashanth Ravishankar, Director of Technical Services, Cenzic, Inc.
Date: Wednesday, February 6th, 2008 * 12:30pm - 1:15pm
This will be a discussion on how application vulnerability assessments can be performed using Cenzic's Hailstorm line of products. Application security testing strategies will be discussed via the Hailstorm web and fat client interfaces. Attention will be paid to using available browser resources to uncover vulnerabilities and handling state during the testing process.
Prashanth has nearly a decade of experience in the security industry focusing on holographic and quantum cryptography, and more recently web application security. In his role at Cenzic, Prashanth heads up the remote penetration testing arm of Cenzic, working to test a variety of applications from Fortune 1000 organizations.
