Registration & Tuition

How to Register
- Everyone with Internet access must complete the online registration form. (We do not take registrations by phone.)
- Even if you do not want to submit your payment information online, still complete the online form. There is an option to submit Credit Card information for payment by fax OR phone once the online form is completed and you have your invoice number.
- SANS ONLY ACCEPTS US & CANADIAN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PURCHASE ORDERS. If you normally use a PO, and are not part of the federal government, please see our additional PO information on the Tuition Information page.
- You must print YOUR OWN INVOICE at the end of the online registration process, if you need one.
We recommend you register early to ensure you get your first choice of courses. An immediate e-mail confirmation is sent to you when the registration is submitted properly. If you have not received e-mail confirmation within two business days of registering, please call the SANS Registration office at 301-654-SANS(7267) . You may also contact us by e-mail at email@example.com.

For groups of 2 or more, SANS Self Study offers discounts starting at 5% off of course fees. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for information on group discounts. Self Study will provide you with a discount code to be used during the online registration process.
*Discounts do not apply toward the $599.00 GIAC Certification fee or shipping fees.
To register with a discount you must:
- Obtain a discount code BEFORE you register. Codes cannot be applied to your account after registration is completed.
- There is a field to enter your discount code on the online registration form.
- All group discount registrations MUST arrive in ON THE SAME DAY or the discount will NOT apply. Discounts are NOT retroactive.
***Only one discount may be used per customer per registration/order. Discounts may not overlap. If you are eligible for more than one discount, we will apply the discount of the largest percentage.
What to Do Once Registered
Once your online registration is submitted, you will receive a copy of your invoice via email. If you do not pay online with a credit card, your invoice will be marked as unpaid. Once your payment has been made, you will receive a paid receipt via email.
Within 48 hours of payment, you will receive an email with information on how to access your course.
To receive the discounted rate for the GIAC certification attempt, you must add the certification attempt when you register for your SANS training course. On the online registration form, simply choose to add the certification attempt with your course.
If you sign up for the GIAC certification attempt, the duration of access for your training and to pass the certification exams will be the same. For details on the duration of access and the discounted rate, see the table on Tuition Information page. The GIAC certification attempt may also be purchased without SANS training at a higher rate, through the GIAC Challenge program. If You Must Substitute / Cancel
You may substitute another person in your place at any time prior to accessing your course by emailing email@example.com.
If you have no one to replace you, please submit your refund request in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org prior to accessing your online course materials and receiving the additional course materials that are shipped to you. Your registration fee will be returned, less a $300.00 processing fee, in the same manner in which it was paid.
No refunds will be given once you access your online course materials or receive the additional course materials that are shipped to you.

Credit card payments can be made securely on-line through the registration form.
Or by Phone: Complete the on-line registration form and select "Credit Card by Fax or Phone" as the payment method. After you have received your conference invoice number, call 301-654-SANS(7267) to complete the credit card transaction.
DO NOT e-mail your credit card information, it will not be accepted.

- Wire transfers:
Complete the on-line registration form and select "Bank Transfer" as the payment method. Fill in the "Bank Name" field with the name of your bank, and then e-mail email@example.com requesting information to complete the transfer. Do not deduct any bank fees from your transmittal. We must receive the full amount shown on your Invoice.
Wire transfers may take up to 2 weeks to be posted to the SANS account. If funds have not been received by 9:00am on the start date of your conference, SANS will require full payment on a credit card to allow you into class. This will 'hold' your account until the transfer is complete or the funds have been received. Once SANS receives the funds, your credit card will be refunded.
- Federal Government Purchase Orders (ONLY US & CANADIAN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT)

The SANS Institute expects payment in advance for all courses. The only exception is made for federal government employees, who must submit a copy of a DD form 1556 or other federal form in advance of training.
We do not accept state, provincial, corporate, or university purchase orders. You may use one of these purchase orders to obtain funding for the course, but do not send us a copy.
Be sure that your organization can process your purchase order in time to send payment to the SANS Institute before the training begins. You may bring a check or credit card with you and pay at the door if necessary.
IMPORTANT: A completed PO must include the full SANS conference invoice number (letters & numbers) and the amount on the PO MUST match the invoice. Incomplete or inaccurate POs will cause delays in processing, which could lead to delays in training.

Purchase Orders (ALL OTHERS):
The SANS Institute ONLY accepts US & Canadian Federal Government Purchase Orders(PO). We do not accept POs from state governments, local governments, corporations, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, or any one else except for the US and Canadian Federal Government.
If your regular method of payment is by PO and you are not part of the US or Canadian Federal Government, please use the following procedure:
- Complete the on-line registration form
- Verify all the information is correct and click "Proceed" at the bottom of the page
- Make sure your Billing Address is Correct & Choose any "Conference Extra's" you would like.
- Read the Conference Policies
- Choose a method of payment at the bottom of the page.
- Submit the printed invoice to whomever is responsible for paying your training fees
The SANS Institute does not mail invoices requesting payment. If you require an invoice to process payment, or would like one for your records, you need to complete the on-line registration form. Click print when you have completed your registration.
