What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a file format used on the internet to easily share information across many different types of systems. RSS is a form of XML (an acronym for extensible markup language) and is simply a list of headlines and sometimes a short summary with a link to the entire content. This list is automatically updated so you always have the latest information right at your fingertips.

How can I get RSS Feeds?

You can "subscribe" to an RSS feed by simply pasting a feed link into any RSS reader of aggregator. Most current web browsers offer the ability to subscribe directly in the browser. Some examples include Firefox Live Bookmarks, Internet Explorer 7 Feeds and Safari RSS View.

Some other ways to subscribe to RSS Feeds

Web-based aggregators allow you to check your feeds from any internet connected web browser. Numerous free services are available such as www.bloglines.com, www.google.com/reader, my.yahoo.com and many more.

Alternatively, there are many free programs you can download and install to check your feeds. Some options include Google Desktop on Windows or News Reader Widget on the Mac OS X.
