Building a Low Cost Forensics Workstation
- Abstract
- This paper will outline the fundamentals of computer forensic investigation and then, based on these essentials, create requirements for a low cost forensics workstation for use in electronic investigations. Specific technologies will be used as examples of how these requirements can be met, however, the paper's intent is not to provide a cookie cutter solution, but rather provide a set of requirements that can be used to build a system with the resources available to most medium to large sized corporations.
