User passwords have always been a big issue for administrators and for users. For administrators, it creates a huge workload to administer passwords. Users have a hard time memorizing their password, which creates a big security problem. This paper examines biometrics as a means for making user authentication more secure based on a unique identifier, the fingerprint. New and affordable biometric products are popping up in the market and fingerprint recognition provides the most reliable method of identification because no person's prints are identical to those of another individual
