- Abstract
- The architecture that is used to define Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) is a distributed, object-oriented, component, architecture. In what follows, we will examine the various parts of this definition before turning to an examination of how Enterprise Java Beans can be secured. Let us start by looking at components. Enterprise Java Beans can be used to build components that can then be assembled into different applications. More specifically, an Enterprise Java Bean (along with other components) is a J2EE component (A Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition component), and as such it can be defined as a self-contained functional software unit that is assembled into a J2EE application with its related classes and files and that communicates with other components.
