Eric Conrad, content chair of SANS Cyber Defense Initiative announced today a 2008 Cyber Defense Initiative, the SANS SCORE Macintosh OS X (Leopard) Security Checklist. This initiative is important because Leopard, the 6th major version of OS X, contains over 300 changes and enhancements to the previous version of OS X. Many of these changes have important security implications, and the OS X Security Checklist has been updated to guide you through the critical issues. Industry experts including Adam Gray, CTO of Novacoast, Inc., and Charles Edge, author of Foundations of Mac OS X Security and Director of Technology for 318, contributed to this updated checklist.
Macintosh's OS X is growing in popularity, and is available in both end-user and server versions. As the OS X enterprise footprint increases, maintaining its security will become more critical to organizations. The OS X Security Checklist provides a concise roadmap for securing these systems
Eric Conrad will be available at the SANS Cyber Defense Initiative conference http://www.sans.org/cdi08/ to explain more about critical OS X security issues and solutions. The OS X Security Checklist is posted at www.sans.org/score/checklists/Mac_OSX_Checklist1_1.doc
