- Behind the Scenes at the SANS Internet Storm Center

The SANS Internet Storm Center (ISC) uses advanced data correlation and visualization techniques to analyze data collected from thousands of sensors in over sixty countries. Experienced volunteer incident handlers constantly monitor the Storm Center data feeds searching for trends and anomalies in order to identify potential threats. When a threat is identified, the team immediately begins an intensive investigation to gauge the threat's severity and impact. This presentation explains what happens behind the scenes at the SANS ISC and includes details on how you can participate. We will also discuss recent threats and tools observed by the SANS ISC, and show how the threat groups have changed from script kiddie hackers to highly organized criminals.
