Mentor Bio: Jose de Jesus Ramirez PIchardo: Jose de Jesus Ramirez Pichardo has the degree of Computer Engineer from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM). He has a diploma in Information Security from Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM CCM) as well as a diploma in PMI Project Management from Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM CEM).
He has earned the following certifications: PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), SANS GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), ISECOM OSSTMM Professional Security Analyst (OPSA) and ISECOM OSSTMM Professional Security Tester (OPST).
He worked for three years in Faculty of Engineering at UNAM as UNIX/Linux Security Administrator. At that time, he managed the faculty Web Server and the E-mail Server.
He works for Banco de Mexico and he is member of the Information Security Office where he manages several projects in his areas of expertise.
He has expertise in Web Application Firewalls, Antivirus and Personal Firewall, Antispam, NIDS and HIDS as well as Vulnerability Assessments and Penetration Testing. He has been involved in various cases within the organization where forensic analysis has been very helpful. He also provides internal consulting services.
Teaching is fun for him. He really enjoys teaching because he believes that this is a way to collaborate with other people, exchanging experiences, learning from others and increasing the collective knowledge. Nowadays, He teaches Information Security in Faculty of Engineering at UNAM.

Computer Forensics Course Prerequisites
Strong recommendation: Each student should attend Security 408: Computer Forensic Essentials prior to taking this course or have equivalent digital forensic experience in the field. This course is a designed to be a perfect follow on for those that have already attended Security 408: Computer Forensic Essentials.
If you are just beginning in computer forensics or information security, then this course is not appropriate for you as the basics of computer forensics, system administration, and hacker techniques will not be covered.
