Karl Sigler is a Senior Security Instructor at a Fortune 500 tech company. Information Security has been a life long interest that Karl has been doing professionally since 1996. Starting at a security VAR in the mid 90s he oversaw deployments of firewall/vpn solutions, vulnerability assessments, H/NIDS and multi-factor authentication systems. He worked his way into education at Internet Security Systems in 2001 where hes led the usual suspect product classes (CheckPoint, RSA, and ISS) as well as creating vendor neutral classes such as Intrusion Analysis, Incident Handling, and Vulnerability Assessment. He has taught, consulted, and deployed security solutions on every continent save Antarctica. Over the years he has worked with a very diverse clientele from Fortune 500 companies and healthcare organizations to every branch of the US military and several government agencies. He is a published author. He is also responsible for the creation of the first Live LinuxCD dedicated to security, Knoppix-STD, way back when people were still carving security tools out of stone.
