With a strong passion for emerging technologies and computer systems, Jamil developed a strong interest in them and their inner processes at a young age; he became autodidact in the fields that interested him most and grew an ease for learning on his own. It became both his passion and his hobby to figure out how systems and networks operated while trying to alter their intended behavior to accomplish different tasks.

Jamil graduated from a Canadian university in Quebec with a Bachelor's degree in computer engineering and he obtained his first GIAC certification in 2002 at the age of 19 after personally being introduced to the program by one of the best SANS instructors; he has since re-certifed GCIH for the 4th time.

In order to pursue his passion, Jamil established a consulting company that specializes in providing computer security, IT, software development and engineering services to small businesses in the Ottawa/Gatineau area. The main focus of his mandate is to provide secure solutions to his clients and helping them enforce safe networking, development and computing practices within their projects.

As part of the mentor program, he strongly believes that participating in SANS curicula and providing the necessary knowledge to students will help shape secure environments within organizations and private networks. He feels that pursuing a SANS program is one of the best investments for securing an organization's technological assets and intellectual property from constant external and internal threats.
