Chris Andre Solberg Dale

I am Chris Andre Dale from Norway, and I am currently working as a Chief Information Security Officer at Sharecat Solutions, administering the security challenges of a medium sized, multi-country business. Along with a lot of security expertise, my background comes from system development and application management. I consider my vast and broad experience as an excellent precursor to work within security.

I am an open, sharing, engaging and fun person to be around. I am enthusiastic, motivating as well as positive and optimistic. I am passionate about security, both IT and physical security. I do security research on my spare time, ranging from picking locks, putting together web application attacks or writing on my blog. A fun day is when I can dive into technical matters and pick my brain doing problem solving.

People such as Ed Skoudis hugely inspire me in my security practice. Driven by mottos such as "Magic is just science we don't understand yet" and "Think bad, do good", I attack today's security challenges with eagerness and enthusiasm. I consider myself a pragmatic person, with the ability to think outside the box, keeping the business in focus.

Additionally to my day job, I also teach the SANS course Hacking Techniques, Exploits & Incident Handling as a community sans instructor. This course prepares you for the GIAC Certification in Incident Handling (GCIH). This has proven to be a great way to increase my knowledge and network with the infosec community. I find it extremely motivating and fun to teach others the art of security and hacking, and I often find that my passion and enthusiasm rubs off on my students.
