Dear Colleague,

In reply to the overwhelmingly positive response to the survey that we initiated in April, I am delighted to inform you that SANS will be coming to Helsinki to teach one of its most popular courses on 11-16 September 2006.

The class being taught is SEC503: Intrusion Detection In-Depth with Jess Garcia as your instructor. In this course Jess will teach you how to deploy all the pieces required to secure a network in today's hostile environment. He will cover packet filters, firewalls, defense-in-depth, VPNs, and network design and assessment. This is a fantastic course for auditors and consultants, and it prepares you for the GCIA certification.

We will be holding the event right in the centre of Helsinki at the Scandic Grand Marina Hotel. However, the classroom has a limited capacity, so I would recommend that you do not wait until the last moment to register for the class!

I look forward to seeing you in Helsinki in September. Once again I wish to thank all of you who helped in making this event a reality. I would not have been able to get this event organised without the kind help from you all. I now want to turn the attention to making the training event a success so that SANS can make this visit to Finland an annual event.

So start making your arrangements today to attend SANS Helsinki 2006! If you have any questions in the interim, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,
John Fitzgerald
