Dear Colleague,

SANS is pleased to announce we have partnered with NERC to offer a preconference training course at Grid Security Conference (GridSecCon) 2012 on October 16, 2012 in San Diego, CA. GridSecCon will be held on the following days, October 17 - 18th.

David Hoelzer will be teaching Incident Response Team Management. This course will take you to the next level of managing an incident response team. Students will learn by applying course content through hands-on skill-building exercises. These exercises range from: writing and evaluating incident response procedures, table-top validation of procedures, incident response management role playing in hypothetical scenarios, to hands-on experience in tracking incident status in hypothetical scenarios.

NERC's GridSecCon will be held at the San Diego Marriott Del Mar. The conference will bring together industry and government security professionals to discuss grid security concerns, trends, and best practices in the industry. Gerry Cauley, NERC's president and chief executive officer, will deliver the opening keynote address. Retired Admiral Thad Allen from Booz Allen Hamilton, former Coast Guard commandant, will provide insight into crisis response. Other presenters include Bill Bryan from the Department of Energy; Mark Fabro, Lofty Perch; Tom Galloway, North American Transmission Forum; as well as other experts from the electricity and cybersecurity industries.

We look forward to seeing you in San Diego.

Sincerely,

Brian Correia
